Murguma Dam or Lake or Reservoir is located in the north of Begunkodar within Jhalda Block and is about 55 kms from Purulia town. It is tribal village in Purulia District, situated on the border of Purulia (West Bengal) and Jharkhand.The dam is on the tributary of Kangsabati river. Murguma is very beautiful place for weekend.The natural beauty of Ajodhya hill is visible from this point.

The train reaches Purulia around 12:30 pm. From Purulia Station, you can hire a car and reach Murguma. You need to avail the Ranchi road and travel to Murguma, via Begunkodar.The distance is around 45 kilometers and it takes about 1 hour 20 minutes from Purulia The another popular train is Howrah Chakradharpur Passenger, reach Jharkhand’s Muri Station. From Muri Station, Muruguma is situated at a distance of 35 kilometers. You can also reach Murguma from Jhalda Station..distance of 14 km
