The bad weather on Thursday brought heavy rain and triggered severe flooding in several areas of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

The worst-hit areas were Rive De Gier in the Loire Department, and Annonay in the Ardeche where roads turned into rivers and rescues had to be carried out by helicopter.
