Unlike my last project, "Might Quit", which was best fit to be turned into an ambient ballad, "At the Airport Terminal" is so full of chaotic energy that it required me to take that energy to the next level in my arrangement.
My main inspiration was a marching band; loud bright brass and big heavy chords over an intense upbeat rhythmic backdrop was the perfect way to capture the energy of the original song while keeping it light and cheery.
I drift away from this style often though, to keep the overall sound fresh and exciting, as keeping the same texture for too long would get boring even if it's upbeat. This leads to the frantic chaos of my version mirroring not only bill's song, but also the general chaos found in actual airport terminals.
