Bourbon Bacon Jam is one of the best appetizer's you can make for your friends and family. It hits all the notes, Salty, Savory & Sweet! Im going to show you how to make the BEST BACON JAM Recipe. I know its theist bacon jam recipe because I have had so many people tell me it is. It is very simple to make the Bourbon Bacon Jam but it does take about an hour to make so you will need some time. Once made it will hold for a week so you can make ahead of time which is what I usually do.
The Bourbon Bacon Jam is just a few ingredients but when they come together and form the jam they are ultra satisfying. I like this with a little cheese on a cracker but the applications are endless you can put on burgers, meatloaf, Grilled Cheese among others. 1 lb Thick Cut bacon - Cook drain all but enough grease to cook the yellow onions
2 Yellow Onions Cook for 10 minutes until soft has some color
1/2 C Brown Sugar turn heat to low and cook for 20 minutes until Caramelized
1/2 C water add then continue to simmer for 30 minutes or until water has reduced and onions are a jam like consistency
add back Bacon and 1 TBS of Balsamic Vinegar
Will hold for one week
