Nationwide Children’s Hospital is home to the largest neonatal network in the nation. Our main campus Level 4-referral, neonatal intensive care unit - provides the highest level of neonatal care and expertise for babies from all over the country. Our patients benefit from units dedicated to the care of extremely premature infants and infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia. In addition to these signature programs, we have centers of excellence in neonatal/infant feeding disorders and neurodevelopmental care. Our trainees receive their delivery hospital experience at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital NICU at the Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. Our care teams include attendings, fellows, residents, advanced practice nurses, and physician’s assistants who work alongside our partners in nursing. Our units are designed around family-centeredness, with families as a focal point of care and adult beds available to parents to promote kangaroo care. We promote interdisciplinary collaboration with daily co-management rounds with surgery as well as weekly rounds with our cardiology, pulmonology, feeding disorders, and intestinal failure teams. We are also proud to be one of 15 elite research centers in the Neonatal Research Network, a national network of investigators leading the way in neonatal medicine.
