"Can I spot fix a problem area on my resined piece?"
This is one of the most frequently asked questions here at ArtResin - customers want to know if they can simply sand down and patch an area where there might be an issue, such as a bubble, a bit of dust, a hair etc.with a little bit of resin, instead of sanding down and re-finishing the entire piece.
To be honest, patch fixing isn't something we do here at the studio, and here's why: it's almost impossible to get a seamless finish this way. You will almost always be able to see the fresh patch of resin sitting on top of the original resin coat.
Now you can certainly try, and we do have a few customers who are adept at spot fiixing, but for that beautiful, even layer of ArtResin that we all know and love, it's always best practice to sand down your entire piece and pour a fresh coat over the whole thing for a perfect, seamless finish.
Stay tuned next week for another episode of Video Friday - and remember, if you have a tip the resin world needs to know about, post it in the comments below!!
