The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a clarification on the implementation of the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) in medical colleges. Notably, the NMC underscores that the responsibility for procuring AEBAS compliant machines rests with individual medical colleges, allowing them to independently choose reliable vendors. Maintenance-related communications for biometric attendance machines will not be entertained by the NMC, and proper internet connectivity is mandated for the colleges.
The notice highlights the option for users facing fingerprint recognition issues to utilize the face-based Biometric Attendance System (BAS). A portal for whitelisting requests has been introduced, urging colleges to submit requests through this platform.
