AMALA, GBEGIRI, EWEDU, NIGERIAN STEW| NIGERIAN FOOD 👉 GUR EATS
In this video blast from the past video, I take you guys to one of my favourite Amala and Ewedu joints in Lagos. So we grabbed some hot tasty food and made a small walking tour of the locality before tucking into some delicious food.

Amala is a local indigenous Yoruba food, native to the Yoruba ethnic group of Southwestern Nigeria. It is made out of yam and/or cassava flour, or unripe plantain flour. Tubers of Yams are peeled, sliced, cleaned, dried and then blended into flour, it is also called èlùbọ́. Yams are white in colour but turn brown when dried which gives Amala its colour. It is a popular side to ewédú and gbẹ̀gìrì (black-eyed beans soup), but is also served with a variety of other ọbẹ (soups), such as ẹ̀fọ́, ilá, and or ogbono.
Ewedu - jute leaves beaten into a slimy texture and cooked into a soup served with meat, fish, stew and paired with Gbegiri and Amala.
Gbegiri soup is a type of Nigerian soup popularly eaten by the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria. It is made from peeled cooked bean. This beans soup is commonly served at restaurants also known as Buka. It is delicious, velvety and mildly flavoured
