The basin attracts a considerable number of tourists every summer, who practice fishing and numerous water sports. However, the main activity of the basin (and also an economic resource, together with tourism) is oyster farming: the regular presence of the tide in fact allows for the construction of structures in which to grow oysters which, during the day, are periodically submerged by the water.
