"Of all the houses in Wales, none are more peaceful on the sabbath than the pubs."
Panorama's John Morgan reports on the threat to the traditional Welsh Sunday posed by changes in the licensing laws. The Welsh Nonconformist chapels are opposed to pubs opening on Sunday, and want to keep the Sabbath sacred.
Many of the Welsh people, however, support Sunday opening - and among their ranks is the Archbishop of Wales. As Wales rapidly shifts from a pastoral land to an industrial one, is it fair to deny steelworkers and miners a day in the pub after a hard week's work?
