Cordry and Sweetwater Lakes are both man-made the two cleanest lakes in Indiana. Cordry is a bit smaller at 160 acres. Sweetwater is 275. The lakes were built by Howard Prince back in 1951 and
in 1961 the Cordry Sweetwater Conservancy District was established. And today the CSCD is what keeps our amazing little slice of heaven so great. So the CSCD takes care of the water, utilities, the roads.
The CSCD is who employs our boat patrol, our beach attendants, and our Marina attendants.
Residents of the community, along with Brown County state taxes, will
pay a second tax, which is the Special Assessment Tax.
That is based on property value and a few other factors.
