This was an invited lecture at Rockford University, hosted by the Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship, provided to students during combined Business Ethics and Introduction to Philosophy class sessions.

In the course of the lecture, we discuss several of key ideas and passages drawn from the Epictetus' Stoic classic, the Enchiridion (or Handbook) bearing important implications for leadership.

Among these are the notion of self-mastery or -governance; the dichotomy of control; determining prices and priorities for things; appearances (phantasiai) and judgements; and emotions, affects, and attachments.

We also spend a bit of time at the start discussing how Stoicism originated with Zeno of Citium, its development, and its spread through areas of Greek and Roman cultural influence.
