PM Narendra Modi is fighting for the UNSC permanent seat today but there was a time when we had a seat given to us both by the United States of America and the USSR. India was offered a permanent seat in UNSC thrice in the 1950s. The prime minister of that time, Mr. Nehru denied it and gave the immense opportunity to China.
Today China is the country that is opposing India's seat in the UNSC by using its VETO power and hence has become a big roadblock for India. This all sprouted out from a single decision by the prime minister of India.
