I have decided that my birthday present to myself each year is going to be to visit a Bucket List parkrun. Two parkruns that have been on my radar for ages are Eden Project and Durlston Country Park. As they aren't too far from each other (but are absolutely miles from me) then I decided that, instead of a holiday abroad this summer, we would drive down in the campervan and check out these stunning parkruns. Eden project parkrun was our first stop.
I can't find the words to describe to you how stunningly beautiful this parkrun is. The Eden Project is an epic place to run around and the domes look spectacular as you wind your way up and down the hills of the crater that the Eden Project sits in. Getting free entry into Eden Project for all runners and volunteers is an absolutely huge bonus too! Having never visited before then both Poppy and I were blown away, both by the run itself, and by how much we loved exploring afterwards... Plus these must have been some of our best post-parkrun ice creams!
August bank holiday weekend was always going to be a busy one and 661 parkrunners was a record number of parkrunners for this venue. It did feel busy on the narrow paths so if you like smaller parkruns then make sure you visit outside of school holidays!
Huge thanks to the team for all of their hard work, their warm welcome, and for managing a record number of parkrunners!
