Classification is a tool which helps one to identify the similarities & difference between the organisms. It also helps to understand the evolution process of organisms that how they evolved from simple form to complex one. It helps to better understand the inter-relationship between the organisms..
Classification of chordata:-
The phylum chordata is divided into two groups namely:
1-Group Acraniata (Protochordates):- These are primitive/lower chordates who doesn't have Cranium/ brain box (scull of boney structure which protects brain)
2- Group Craniata (Euchordqtes):-
These are true/higher chordates which have Cranium/ brain box ...
Acraniata group is again divided into three categories namely:
Sub-phylum Hemichordate ( Have half chordate characters)
Sub-phylum Urochordate (Have notochord in tail region only)
Sub-phylum Cephalochordate (Have notochord extended from head to tail region)...
