Almansur usurps power and becomes defacto ruler of Al Andalus. He raises the Umayyad Caliphate to height of her military power. His armies lay waste to the Christian Kingdoms of Leon and Castile; and sack Santiago de Compostela in the process. However, he is proceeded by his two sons, who lack his political finesse and the Caliphate will suffer in their wake.
