FRAXA's latest research grant goes to Dr. Jeannie Lee and Dr. Hungoo Lee at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. This team is targeting the root cause of Fragile X syndrome: extra DNA (CGG repeats) which shut down a single gene. Using a drug "cocktail" they are able to shrink this extra DNA in cells in their lab! With this new $90,000 FRAXA Fellowship, thanks to major support from The Pierce Family Fragile X Foundation, Drs. Lee and Lee are working to move these results forward.
