How to Make Aloo Posto | aloo posto recipe | Potato With Poppy Seeds
Aloo Posto is another mouthwatering and highly popular traditional Bengali dish that everyone must try. Although it's a classic Bengali recipe passing down through generations, Aloo Posto is super easy and simple to prepare. In this recipe Potatoes are cooked with Poppy seeds paste (Posto Bata) and flavoured with few Indian spices and Green Chillies. When it comes to ultimate comfort food for the Bengalis, Aloo Posto clearly wins the crown of glory.
Ingredients for Aloo Posto: 👇
1. Poppy Seeds (well soaked) - 3-4tbsp
2. Potatoes - 2 medium sized
3. Green Chilli - 2 - 4 pcs
4. Mustard Oil - 1tbsp (Mustard Oil is a must for traditional Bengali cuisine if you want the same taste and flavour)
5. Black Cumin Seeds - 1tsp
6. Turmeric Powder - 1tsp
7. Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
8. Salt - 1tsp/as per taste
9. Sugar - 1tsp
10. Water
Aloo Posto is best served with plain Rice teamed with Biuli/Kalai dal to savour the heavenly flavour it carries.
