48-year-old motorcyclist Michael Burnett of Macon was leaving his dad's house after a night of watching boxing together.
Michael's dad Rogers Burnett decided to go to the store and he ended up on the scene of his son’s crash.
"The helmet. I knew it was him and I just stopped right there in the middle and I jumped out running 'cause I see they were pumping his chest but hey let’s get the helmet off,” Rogers Burnett told 13WMAZ in an interview in September. "That just took the wind out of me. I couldn’t think anymore."
Michael was pronounced dead on the scene.
Michael's parents were left looking for answers on how the crash happened.
