RARE XT40 TROLLEY BUS ON THE 14 MISSION!
Surprisingly on an afternoon of 12/22, for some reason there was one rare 40 foot trolley bus running on the 14 Mission, which is one of my home routes! Unfortunately the first time I saw it, it skipped my stop, but there was immediately a regular articulated trolley 14 Mission bus right behind so I was able to chase and catch it at the first/last stop at Mission & San Jose Ave.
This bus ended up becoming a standing room only bus, but it was never crowded, at the beginning it was empty but later filled up as usual. This was also recorded on a Sunday which less people usually go out to ride public transit to places.
This 40ft trolley bus on the 14 Mission reminded me of the pre-pandemic ETI trolley bus days when the 14 ran both short and artic trolley buses. Now the 14 Mission mainly uses all artic trolley buses as ridership is always at extreme high levels. After posting this video, I have no idea when an XT40 will randomly pop up on the 14 Mission again, as this is a extremely rare occurrence.
