Today, we honor the birthday of Giacomo Puccini (1858–1924), the legendary Italian composer who brought timeless operas like La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, and Turandot to life. Known for his masterful melodies and emotional depth, Puccini’s works remain a cornerstone of classical music and opera.

In this unforgettable performance, the renowned Luciano Pavarotti (1935–2007) delivers a stunning rendition of Nessun Dorma, the iconic aria from the final act of Turandot. Joined by José Carreras and Plácido Domingo as part of The Three Tenors, this magical evening in Los Angeles (1994) was conducted by Zubin Mehta and featured the L.A. Philharmonic and the L.A. Music Center Opera Chorus. A Tibor Rudas production, this concert captivated millions and remains one of opera’s finest moments.
