In Harvard Business Publishing's global research report, "Leadership Reframed for the Workplace of the Future", we defined and vetted the 10 most critical skills for leaders—across levels and functions who now navigate the workplace in this age of constant change and disruption.

One of the 10 leadership capabilities is leading authentically. Nearly eight in 10 respondents felt strongly that "Leads Authentically" is important for senior and people managers, and they see this
capability as crucial for employee engagement and morale.
• 59% of senior leaders believe their organizations emphasize Leads Authentically, versus just 36% of individual contributors and 48% of people managers, revealing a concerning gap in perceptions.
• 67% of people managers expressed a strong desire for this kind of training—an important finding since respondents said that was even more critical for people managers than for senior leaders.
