During a debate on BBC’s Question Time on Thursday about the UK government’s decision to redefine “extremism”, which is spearheaded by communities secretary Michael Gove, host Fiona Bruce was unable to see any audience member raise their hands when she asked if they supported what Gove said.
Critics of the efforts to redefine “extremism” say that it is an attempt to silence dissent in the country, and fear that it will disproportionately target Muslims.
