Ballet Folklorico at UC Merced is a group of students who aim to learn about and practice Latin cultural dances. They meet Monday through Thursday in the evening 7:30-9:00 pm. They practice outside of the Dining Center. They recommend to dress in warm clothes. All members must wear comfortable/ work out attire, and all should have their hair pulled back. They have a 10 dollar fee per semester. Usually with that money they buy club shirts and/or fix any of their costumes. The member does not need any experience since they offer a whole week of basic steps. All you will need is Folklorico shoes and other basic, easy to get stuff for performances, depending on gender. In order to be active the member must help table for at least two hours a semester, attend three out of four practices weekly, sign a liability sheet and pay the club fee.
