I’m using a stick welder with 7018 3/32 diameter electrode.
Running machine at 120 volts and 60 amps from my backyard.
Get a power search protection box it will drop breakers
Shield metal arc welding is really powerful and penetrates quick it also blows holes right through different material if kept long enough or sometimes just barely tapping it.
It’s a good idea to just have in mind ways to get yourself out of a situation.

DONT do this method for structural or pipes. Only for basic fabrication and ornamental projects but I have accomplished a lot with just executing this tack welding technique with stick welder and making things or simple repairs.

Great method for repairs around the farm or around the shop, low budget welding stick welders are great for outdoor I even weld with smaw in the rain lol.
