Do Electric Cars Have Alternators?
ICE cars have an alternator to recharge the battery after starting the car and also to run accessories. Electric vehicles don't need to do this - they use a DC-DC converter to change the traction battery voltage down to 12 volts to run things like wipers, radios, etc.
