Designed in the 1930’s, the 1918A2 was a US Army “improvement” from the John Browning designed M1918 BAR. A few of the new features were the addition of a bipod, a new hand guard, a new rear sight assembly, addition of a flip up attachment on the buttstock, and a redesigned buffer assembly & fire control group.
The semi-auto function was removed in favor of two automatic modes, slow and fast. In the slow mode, it’s only slightly faster than semi-auto but a lot more complicated! Leave it to the US Army…
