[ Ссылка ] The mid-sized sedan segment is by far the most competitive segment in the entire automotive industry. Practically every manufacturer has a vehicle targeting this segment. For years the Accord was at the top of the heap winning award after award, year after year. But the Accord quickly got stale and with the new Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry redesigns; the Accord was losing ground quickly. Now we have a new measuring stick with the all new redesigned 2013 Honda Accord Sedan. The Accord is one of the safest bets in America today. The base price is $21,680; the car drives great, has a nice resale value, and offers wonderful reliability.
Most enthusiasts and automotive journalist would cringe at the thought of having to test drive yet another family sedan. But the reality is that this is still the most popular segment of car in America today. The Camry and Accord combined sell almost a million cars per year. Honda has basically set the standard with the Accord for over 30 years. This nameplate has been around since the 1970's and is now in its 9th generation and the Accord keeps on getting better. What's unusual about the new 2013 Honda Accord is that it has actually gotten shorter while interior room has increased and the cargo room is larger, which is a great testament to Honda Engineers.
Styling is dramatically improved with the nice shoulder lines and shorter overhangs. Basically the car looks more modern and up to date. But it is not just about styling with the new Accord Sedan. Under the hood is a brand new engine and CVT transmission. Not to be outdone by Mazda's SkyActiv engine technology, Honda has released their own line called Earth Dreams Technology. The new engine is very efficient and powerful. The motor is a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder that makes 185 horsepower and 181 lb-ft. of torque. The CVT transmission helps the Accord to get fuel economy ratings of 27 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. The Accord comes in several trim levels that include the: Base LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and the top of the line Touring model. If you want to get a 4-cylinder engine, that comes standard on the 3 lower trims. When you move up to the more expensive trims the V-6 engine becomes optional/standard.
Shoppers of mid-sized sedans are looking for rear legroom space. Thankfully the Accord has plenty of it including a lot of rear headroom too. The Accord's interior has been completely redesigned. You have an all new instrument panel, center stack, and gauges. Everything works really well. The speedometer looks like a high-tech Swiss watch, the steering wheel is nice and compact, and the controls are great. Another bonus is the fact that every 2013 Honda Accord comes with and 8-inch infotainment screen standard as well as a rear backup camera. The Accord also comes with Honda's new lane-watch safety system.
