In Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, a rescued jaguar named Covi underwent a six-hour journey to freedom spanning highways, dirt roads, and by foot through dense jungle.
The operation was a collaborative effort between IFAW, the Payo Obispo Zoo, the Mexican Alliance For the Conservation of Jaguars, and Mexico’s Federal, State, and Municipal levels of government.
