For Sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 1940 Ford convertible. During the restoration, originality was kept in mind but so was usability. Upgraded to a 12 volt system for an easy start, electric fans, electric fuel pump, EZ wiring fuse panel with all wires color coded and labeled, two speed electric wipers, power windows and remote door openers. The engine is a later model Flathead with ultra rare Paul Samarin Big Boy aluminum heads. The engine is also equipped with an Offenhauser dual carb aluminum intake with two 97's on top to supply the fuel. A Mallory distributor and coil supply the spark and a one wire alternator to work with the 12 volt system. Cooling is done by a Walker radiator and electric cooling fans. The transmission is a 39 Top loader and was rebuilt with the engine just 1,080 miles ago. Pete and Jakes rear shock kit are out back with a stock rear end, springs and drum brakes. The front end consist of disc brakes, a 4" dropped Super Bill axle with a Panhard bar, Speedway 4bar and shock kit and reverse eye front spring with slider bottoms. Inside we have a new interior that includes Stewart Warner gauges, a white vinyl split bench seat and room for the family. This is an all steel, old school street rod with some modern touches that runs and drives very well.
