An unusual anti-aircraft weapon at the beginning of WW2 was the wire-barrage rocket. The British Royal Navy had these on ships such as the HMS Hood and HMS King George V. Intended as an AA close range deterrent, it ultimately had limited use and effect. By the end of 1941 they were replaced with more reliable guns, but it was interesting to see rocket launchers so early on Naval ships.
