Rudolf L’Orange, the founder of L’Orange GmbH, developed the pump nozzle in 1950 and, at the time, it was truly groundbreaking. Based on the direct current principle and with significantly lower space requirements, the pump-nozzle injection system evolved into a core component for diesel engines of the 20th century – and remains so today in its advanced versions.
