(21 Jul 2018) BELGIUM MARKS NATIONAL DAY WITH MILITARY PARADE
Belgians celebrated their national day in Brussels on Saturday.
King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and their four children led the festivities in front of the royal palace and watched the traditional military parade marching by.
Politicians and dignitaries were also in attendance while other Belgians took to nearby Parc Royal for a day of fun.
The festivity comes just a week after the Belgian football team placed third at the World Cup in Russia, briefly bridging the country's traditional, cultural and linguistic divide.
Belgium is split into two main regions, Flemish-speaking Flanders and French-speaking Wallonia and the small country boasts three official languages, including German.
