On June 28, 2013, The Union of Concerned Scientists presented a public forum in Pasadena, California, to examine how climate change is fueling wildfires in California and threatening the insurability of homeowners. The event, "Insurance in an Era of Climate Change," featured climate scientists, insurance experts, first-responders, and a keynote address by California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones, and was hosted by California State Senator Carol Liu. Participants explored how insurers, policymakers, and consumers can work together to strengthen the state's resilience to the impacts of climate change.
