Payment Processors - 5 things you should know.
All businesses that make the decision to process credit cards need to select a payment
processor to partner with - with all the options out there this can be a difficult decision.
We’ve compiled a list to help simplify things a bit for you. Here are five things to look for
when selecting a payment processor:
1. Google Reviews:
Why Google? There are a number of review sites out there other than Google, however, 99% of those sites are hosted by companies or agents that are profiting from their recommendations. Google is the least bias.
We don’t recommend going with any payment processor that has less than 300 reviews and does not have at least 4 stars.
2. Customer Service
Your payment processor should operate their own customer service. Many
payment processors outsource this service, limiting their ability to control and
provide a positive merchant experience.
3. Sales
When you choose a payment processor that employs a direct sales
staff, as opposed to employing (freelance?) agents, this helps ensure a smooth and honest
consultation.
4. Diverse Merchant Service Offering
As your business grows, your needs are going to evolve. Partnering with a merchant services provider that offers a broad portfolio of services is a valuable time saver.
5. Social Responsibility
Poorly run companies don’t have the time to help others. A company that is socially responsible is typically a company that has strong values and is well run. It is also a good indication of the company culture, translating to how the employees are treated.
