Dawn Scott still talks about her son Ollie everyday, seven years after her son took his own life as his payday loan debts spiralled and he became addicted to bingo halls.
Bright IT apprentice Ollie, 18, used his smartphone to access the loans – some with interest as high as 4,214 per cent from Wonga, Cash Genie and Toothfairy Finance – with the money hitting his account in less than 30 minutes.
Speaking to The Sun as part of our You're Not Alone suicide prevention campaign, Dawn and fellow bereaved mum Tracey Rogers - whose 20-year-old son killed himself after two unpaid £65 parking fines ballooned to more than £1,000 - are warning of the devastating link between debt and suicide.
