Sri Lanka is also witnessing an economic crisis. Top officials are in talks with the International Monetary Fund over a fresh $2.9 billion program. The two parties are trying to set out an ambitious primary surplus target of 2.3 percent of GDP by 2025 that will mean having to increase state revenue significantly.
