Mayank Gupt had a dream of working in a call center to earn 15000/month(which was three times of his teacher’s salary), today he is less known for working with Income Tax Department than being a negative motivator (not de-motivator ), Career Coach, Successful aptitude trainer (Blackhole of the aptitude). Now let’s start his story.
Early life and career:
Mayank Gupt was born on 07th Dec 1990 to a middle-class Hindu family. He was the youngest child in his whole family.
As a child, he was very confused about his career goals. His Cousin joined Indian Army as Lieutenant so once he wanted to join the Indian Army. Over the time he develops his interest in science, stories of his elder brother Mr. Tarun Gupta fascinated him. He was left-handed but his family pushed him to use the right hand. He was a very weak student. He used to score zero in English He used to score 34 or 35 % till class 5th. His father trained him with skills like speed reading, fast memories and he started scoring 70% with the same efforts. When he was 15 years old he meets with an accident during a science experiment at home and he lost his two fingers of the right hand. He started writing with left hand and gave the last unit test with the left hand, but his speed was slow so he started writing with his right hand and used the remaining 2 fingers. He bagged the second position in his class 9th. When he entered class 10th he comes to know his teacher’s salary is 5000/month and in the call center he can earn up to 15000/month. He started dreaming of being in the call center. Soon he developed an interest in chemistry and he went for graduation in Chemistry from Jamia Millia Islamia. But he was from Hindi background and he had some misunderstanding with his love. It was a difficult time for him to survive but one event changed his way of thinking. He was sitting in the class his Physical Chemistry teacher Mr. Tokeer Ahmed asked Boyle's law and he asked that Sir Can I answer in Hindi? His teacher replied I did my schooling from Hindi Board then Graduation from Hindi Board then after I did my M.Sc. and Ph.D. from IIT, If I can learn English why can’t you?
After Graduation He pursued his MBA (Finance and Marketing), German, Spanish, French, Export Management.
Journey to become Income Tax Inspector:
He was in the final semester of MBA and he was very lazy in life. He saw his classmates are running to catch the bus for their job and he just woke up and came out for a tea. He decided he can not wake up so early and run towards the job. His friend told him that he should prepare for SSC CGL. He was also selected for a company but he denied this job. His friends, relative criticized him, they said that your MBA will be useless after Gap. But his family stood by him.
