Life on Samosir Island is NEVER boring - and having fun doesn't have to be expensive. One of our favourite things to do when we have spare time is exploring Lake Toba via scooter.

In this week's blog, we made the most of a free morning and hit the road - and we didn't have to go far to find breathtaking scenery and interesting sights.

From majestic buffalo and cute puppies to cascading waterfalls and lush rice paddies, village life on Samosir Island is always captivating.

Scooter hire in Tuktuk village is affordable, and exploring Lake Toba via scooter is a fantastic way to see the island. Scooter hire in Tuktuk, Samosir costs around 100,000 -120,000 IDR per day (around NZD$10) and can be found at your accommodation or at one of the many small shops in the area.
