Well, the Demo for Mega Man 11 finally dropped and I've been playing it... actually back to back. This is a REALLY fun game, and this is just a demo, for crying out loud. It's like the Classic MM and MMX games had a baby together and created this. It's a surprisingly fast paced game for Classic MM's usual platforming, and the Double Gear System is brilliantly implemented.
I love how you can get away with not even using it if you know what you're doing (but I used it here just to show it off here and there). But my favorite part of this is how Impact Drive is SO. FUN. It's charged Speed Burner from X2, but without the charging... though the downside is very limited uses (I feel like a move like this needs more weapon energy). But having an air dash in a CLASSIC MM game is a godsend. I gotta resist trying to No Damage this whole game the moment it comes out, buuuuut, man that'll be hard to resist doing...
Block Man tho... he really does like to drop you like a ton of Bricks. But for real, he's a pretty well-designed boss too, and I can tell he's got that Cut Man vibe of being a simple and easy boss to get you into the swing of things (because I can tell the other Robot Masters will be more threatening than this guy). They chose the right RM for the demo. Still... being able to just completely make his pinch phase at the end a joke with the corner charged shots is kinda pathetic. You don't even need to use Speed Gear like I'm sure it's intended to use there. They should probably speed up the blocks he throws in his near-death state. Regardless, fun fight, and I can never get enough of "I'LL DROP YOU LIKE A TON OF BRICKS!". Never gets old, I swear.
Anyway, enjoy. X8 Layer run's first video will drop next weekend, as a small update.
