This is a dry cleaners honest review of soap nuts.
Soap nuts, sapindus, or soap berries, are berries similar to lycées commonly found Asian. Their flesh has a natural surfactant which can sometimes be used for cleaning. But are they any good?
The short answer is no, they are not good at cleaning your clothing and you should avoid them or look elsewhere. They performed 1.5% better at stain removal than cold water alone, pretty weak.
Additionally, their skins can also be used to dye silk and cotton. Which is a BIG issue if you're using them for laundry detergent.
Not only are they useless but they're pricey, hard to use, and can stain your clothing. I do wish they worked better!
