The ruins of the medieval city of Dvigrad are the most important and best-known cultural asset of the municipality of Kanfanar. The name "Dvigrad" (Duo Castra, Due Castelli, Dvegrad) refers to the existence of two parts of the city (Moncastel and Parentin) that were mentioned as a unique city from the 9th to the 10th century. The common name survived even after the collapse of the castle of Parentin, when only Moncastel remained.

The medieval town of Svetvinčenat, located in the south of the central part of Istria, is one of the jewels of Istria in which the tourist offer has revived in recent years, especially through various events held in exceptionally attractive historical sites of this small town .
The village of Svetvinčenat is decorated with the Renaissance square "Placa" and the Morosini-Grimani Castle, one of the best preserved examples of Venetian architecture in Istria. Among the rich cultural heritage of Svetvinčenat are the remains of the frescoes in the Church of St. Vincent near the village cemetery, and those in the Church of St. Catherine stand out.
