One of my bucket list items has been to go the beautiful European Christmas markets I've heard so much about. When I found out Quebec had Christmas markets, emulating those of Europe, I thought it would be a good way to get a preview of what those may be like. I found a 4 day tour through Gate 1 Travel, which was perfect, as we didn't have to take too much time off work. Plus it was my birthday, so off we went!!
In addition to the Christmas markets we got to tour the old fortressed Quebec City, going to the Petit Champlain, the Place Royale, Plains of Abraham, the I'lle d'Orleans, and the basilica at St. Anne de Baupre.
One of my biggest surprises is what kind of a foodie town Quebec has turned out to be. From what we were told, it didn't use to be that way, and used to be hard to find a good restaurant. Now it is hard to find a bad place to eat!!
We found excellent food everywhere, from the Lebanese Deli, to the local coffee shop, and the higher end restaurants. Every meal was just excellent. So, if you are a foodie, this is the town for you.
And of course there's nothing better than a beautiful snowy Old Town. And although at first there was no snow, we got lucky on our last day and got a beautiful blanket of snow! There's nothing like snow and twinkling lights to make up for a magical experience in this beautiful city.
Come join me in my journey of exploration through this amazing city!
If you would like to know more about the specific tour I was in with Gate 1 Travel, they were actually filming a promotional video of the tour I was in. Check it out here: [ Ссылка ]
I'm actually briefly shown on the video at the 4:36 mark! I feel so famous now!
