To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Defected Records presents a series of extra special collaborative releases Together, integrating talent from the label's storied past and the stars of its future as one of Dennis Ferrer's Defected standouts, 'Mind Ur Step', receives a remix from label champion Sam Divine. Featuring American singer-songwriter Janelle Kroll, the 2013 original signposted a notable resurgence for Deep House at that time, then receiving remixes from Nick Curly and André Hommen. Over a decade later, 'Mind Ur Step' remains a record box staple, now receiving an update from Sam Divine. The DJ, producer and broadcaster's relationship with the label is stronger than ever in 2024, playing for Defected at Ushuaïa Ibiza, Glastonbury, and flagship festivals in Croatia and Malta - also releasing a string of singles like her previous Together series release 'Cruel Intentions' with Hannah Wants and Jem Cooke, and 'Saved By The Record' with Josh Barry. Sam's remix of 'Mind Ur Step' takes the addictive, synthy goodness of the original and ups the tempo, creating blistering, shuffling rhythms as Janelle's ethereal vocals remain front and centre.
