Footage of a delegation from the Nigerian military government in Accra offering condolences to their Ghanaian counterparts over the death of Lieutenant General Emmanuel Kwasi Kotoka during an abortive coup.
Kotoka, the Officer Commanding the Ghanaian armed forces and a member of the National Liberation Council (NLC) which came to power in a military coup d'état on 24 February 1966, was killed while trying to put down a military uprising on April 17th 1967.
His responsibilities as an NLC member covered defence, health, labour and social welfare.
The Nigerian delegation, which was led by Commodore Joseph Wey, the head of the Nigerian Navy, included Major Mobolaji Johnson, the military governor of Lagos State, Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Haruna, the Principal Staff Officer of Supreme Headquarters and Major Esuene, the head of the Nigerian Air Force.
