The BBC One programme "Songs of Praise" presented by Noreen Bray, filmed at St Mary's Church in Welshpool and shown in either November 1982 or 1984 (the end of the credits where the date is is missing on the recording).
Led by the Rev Canon Geoffrey Swindley and featuring a number of Welshpool's famous faces from the past.
The family legend behind this is that my Dad, Mike Edwards, was due to be in the congregation but had been for a business 'lunch' in Montgomery on the day and had was slightly worse for wear and didn't actually make it. My Nana, a God-fearing, tee-total Christian, went to her grave in the belief that her son was simply behind a pillar in the service and that's why she couldn't see him, rather than in bed sleeping off the lunch... :D
