Buzz over new party in Telangana, Y S Sharmila meets supporters today
Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Y S Sharmila’s decision to meet close associates at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad on Tuesday has made political circles buzz with anticipation.
Sources say Sharmila has sent invitations to more than 40 people, who were close to her and supported her father, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, when he was chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh. Though persons close to Sharmila say that the meeting is only to celebrate her wedding anniversary, there are strong rumours of her firming up plans to launch a political party in Telangana.

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Y S Sharmila’s decision to meet close associates at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad on Tuesday has made political circles buzz with anticipation.
Sources say Sharmila has sent invitations to more than 40 people, who were close to her and supported her father, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, when he was chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh. Though persons close to Sharmila say that the meeting is only to celebrate her wedding anniversary, there are strong rumours of her firming up plans to launch a political party in Telangana.

Sources added that Sharmila and other leaders have zeroed in on ‘YSR Telangana Party’ (YSRTP) to be registered with the Election Commission. They are reportedly considering July 8, the birthday of Rajasekhara Reddy, to launch the party.
Although Sharmila has steadfastly denied having political ambitions, sources close to her say that she has mostly invited leaders from Nalgonda, Khammam, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts for the Lotus Pond meeting.
