Oceans and seas cover more than two-thirds of our planet's surface. They are home to diverse ecosystems and spectacular plants and animals. Healthy oceans contribute to poverty reduction and economic development by providing jobs, food, minerals, international trade routes and transport, and cultural connections.
In this webinar, celebrating ""World Oceans Day,"" we will discuss the opportunities for countries in the region to foster the Blue Economy, highlighting the different opportunities ocean resources bring in promoting innovation, sustainable finance, nature-based solutions, and blue carbon sequestration. We will also launch the Sustainable Islands Platform website.
