[Question] Already changed address with the USCIS but they're still sending
mail to my old address and mail gets returned to the post office.
What should I do?"
Yeah, I'm telling you,
that's a major issue.
And that's why when you start a case, I always get worried
my clients move addresses. When you have a lawyer, the positive
thing is the lawyer gets notices of everything,
so I'm on top of it if issues like that pop up. But what
you need to do is call USCIS and tell them over the phone
to update your address. Because I found that the website, the
computer system where you update your address with USCIS
Form AR-11 online, doesn't always update the other computer
system that sends you notices and so on. These kinds of cases,
you want to call them up, maybe send them a letter, too, and
constantly be on top of it. Because when you move, this kind of
stuff always happens and you don't want your Green Card be
sent to the wrong place.
That could be a major thing.
So it's some sort of computer glitch, unfortunately, but
this address change issue is major and I have this problem
all the time. All the time. And I've called them and
tried to fix it, but they just have computer systems that
are not fixed up to be able to handle that address change.
So sorry to hear that.
