I made my trip to alishan from chiayi by bus for 240nt. This is just so easy because you can see the public bus outside the TSR train station. You can also use your yoyo card or easy as payment inside the bus. There are 5 trips that you can choose when you want to go to alishan. So better check ahead of time so you can adjust your schedule. For some tips better wear a warm coat because the weather is cold there most esp for month of jan-feb.
